Blogging: What You Need To Know About Defamation

Blogging: What You Need To Know About Defamation

Word Count:

Summary:
Currently there are over 30 million blogs on the internet and thousands more being created each week. Assuming ownership of one blog per person, that's a minimum of 30 million people slinging around their personal opinions on all that exists under the sun. This is a good thing. The free exchange of thoughts and ideas is what prevents the world from becoming a stagnant pool of dictatorship with the appropriate green scum floating on top.

Article Body:
Currently there are over 30 million blogs on the internet and thousands more being created each week. Assuming ownership of one blog per person, that's a minimum of 30 million people slinging around their personal opinions on all that exists under the sun. This is a good thing. The free exchange of thoughts and ideas is what prevents the world from becoming a stagnant pool of dictatorship with the appropriate green scum floating on top.

However, to steal a line from the movie Spiderman, 'With great power comes great responsibility'. Blogging has become a way for the voice of the people to be heard. We must be careful, though, not to abuse our power through thoughtless acts that hurt the credibility of bloggers and blogging. One place that continues to be our Achilles heel is when good posts go bad.

In the United States, libel and slander are the two categories of defamation. In many states, courts have begun treating them the same as the only difference between the two is that libel is a false written statement about a person, place or thing that harms his/her/its reputation while slander is the verbal act of the same offense. Whether blogged on the internet or whispered offline to your mother, the common denominator is that what is said is false.

Since I'm psychic, I already know what you are thinking. 'The First Amendment of the US Constitution protects me. As long as it is the truth, I can say whatever I want.' Well, sort of. As crazy as it sounds, truth is not the silver bullet defense for every case of libel or slander. A judge may require that besides being true the information relayed is in the public interest to know.

So reporting that the CEO of a major corporation had been caught pilfering money from the employees' retirement fund would probably get dismissed from civil court whereas telling the world that your neighbor has smelly feet could get you into more trouble than you want. Even if it were true, why would it be in the public interest to know that your neighbor's feet could clear out Yankee Stadium?

Now, the First Amendment does protect your right to an opinion. If you think that the Mr. Squiggly Toddler Toy is a piece of crap, you are certainly free to tell anyone within earshot as long as you make it clear that it is your opinion on the subject. Likewise, if a person puts forth a negative sentiment with regards to their experience with you and it is clear to any reasonable person that it is their opinion, your legal recourse against them is severely limited.

Parody and satire are also protected. If they weren't, Saturday Night Live and South Park would have never made it past the first episode. And criticism of a public performance such as a symphony, a play and even a book is protected under the Fair Criticism and Comment clause.

Now the internet contributes some interesting layers of complication to the whole blogging shebang. Instead of being contained in a localized area, libel has the potential to cross international borders and not every country handles these cases the same. One of the major problems courts around the world are having to deal with is the one of jurisdiction. If I live in the US and I libel someone who lives in the UK where exactly does the case take place and who's laws do we go by? Several cases have set a scary precedent that leans towards being able to sue anywhere around the world for libel published on the internet.

Then there is the issue of third party liability. Say you are a responsible blogger who is careful about her posts to avoid a troublesome libel accusation. One of your readers posts a libelous statement on your blog. Can you be held responsible for that person's actions? Well, so far the law has only made provisions for internet service providers stating that they cannot be held responsible for how their customers use their services (as it pertains to defamation). Likewise, blog service providers such as Google and Six Apart would likely be immune to any lawsuits arising out of a person's use of the service.

Whether or not you would be held responsible may come down to if you moderate your comments. If you allow comments to be posted automatically, you may be protected under Section 230 of the US Code (for US Citizens). It may be a different story, however, if you approve comments before posting them. It could be argued that your posting of the comments equates your agreement to them. To date, no one has shown up in court to argue this, hence the fact that we are kind of forced to make it up as we go along.

Defamation is a tricky issue and one that needs to be tread carefully if one is to avoid landing in court. Here are a few tips to help keep you out of trouble. Note: I am not an attorney. I don't even get to play one on television. If you and your blog deal with some highly controversial issues or you're just not sure how much trouble you would get into if you published that post about your best friend's boyfriend, I recommend getting in touch with a lawyer to get the best advice.

   1. Change the names. By far the easiest thing you can do is to change or to avoid using the name of the person you are talking about and to strip away as much identifying information as possible. If a reasonable person can visit your hometown and quickly identify the "mealy-mouth cow" you blogged about online, you might want to do some editing.

   2. Make use of a disclaimer. Kevin S Brady has an excellent one on his website. Even something as basic as "By making use of this blog site, you agree that the opinions expressed are the property and responsibility of their respective owners" may provide some defense in the event of a lawsuit. (Check with a real attorney please).

   3. Consider writing your rant as a parody or satire. Extreme exaggerations that no reasonable person would believe are not considered defamation because, quite frankly, they are unbelievable. Be careful though, this type of writing takes a certain je sais quoi, and could easily backfire on you. Have a reasonable person proofread your entry to make sure it passes the believability test.

   4. Watch your language. Be sure to use wording that makes it clear that this is your opinion about the subject. Statements like, "That Mr. Squiggly Toddler Toy is a piece of crap" makes it sound as though you are stating a fact when in all actuality you are making a personal judgment about the toy. Something like "I think that Mr. Squiggly Toddler Toy is a piece of crap" or "That Mr. Squiggly Toddler Toy fell apart after the first use" are safe bets. At least as far as the law is concerned.

   5. And last but definitely not least, don't tell false tales. Now this may seem like common sense but how common is common sense these days? Really. If you feel the need to resort to lying about a person, you may want to seek professional help in examining why you want to do that. 'Cause chances are, it's not to protect the public.

Blogging is a great way to meet people and stay current in the world and doing so responsibly will only make the experience better. Stay safe, stay sane and most of have fun.

Private Label Articles - Get More Useful Content At Low Cost and Effort

Private label rights (PLR) are one of the hottest things in Internet marketing today. Everybody wants to know what they are and, more importantly, what benefits they can get out of them.

In essence, PLR is a kind of license you acquire for material, which allows you to change and edit existing material and call it your own. Without having to do a lot of work, you could be credited as the author of the material and not have to worry about any violations in copyright.

Not a lot of people know about the PLR articles, much less why they should pay attention to them. Give yourself the edge and find out why you should know all you can about PLR and how you can profit from them in the most efficient and effective way possible.

1. Saves time and effort.
You probably already know how much work and time it will take to write an article. On average, a single 700-word article will take about two hours to compose from scratch. If your intention is to create a website with over 50 pages, then you can see how daunting and time-consuming the task of simply writing content will be. PLR articles will save you this time and effort.

2. All credit goes to you.
You are under no obligation to credit the original author for PLR articles. As such, when you publish them on your website, no outbound links and advertisements will be there to distract your visitor / customer. All links will be focused on your brand and your affiliates.

3. Saves you money.
This point requires a different point from saving time and effort simply because of economics. Hiring writers to create content for your website averages about $15 per article. If your site were to hold even just 20 articles that you need to update regularly (say every two weeks), you'd see how the bill could add up.

But if you were to acquire PLR for a set of articles, you could save money because of the economics of scale. Articles are bought at bulk and as such it is possible to get your hands on 200 articles for only less than $30.

4. Editorial freedom.
You don't like how the article is written or the information it is presenting? PLR allows you to change the material right away without needing to ask permission from the writer.
This is also especially useful for optimizing your website for search engines since you can enrich the content with keyword phrases to improve your rankings in SERPs.

5. Create a brand for yourself.
Today, it's all about distinguishing yourself from the rest. PLR articles allow you to provide content that is both relevant and updated. By doing so you build a reputation with your target audience as an expert. And since people would much rather go with someone they trust, your chances of return visitors increases significantly.

6. Get professional results.
Many of the writers who offer articles with PLR are professionals and have access to the latest information regarding your field of interest. By acquiring the rights from them, you avail yourself of their professional results without having to retain their services regularly.

With one set of PLR articles and some creativity on your part, you can extend the life of the articles to the point where the content has more than paid for itself. So when sourcing out a supplier for PLR articles, ask for sample works to demonstrate the quality of articles you would be purchasing.

Now that you know why you should seriously consider getting PLR articles, here are some ways to get you started on profiting from them.

1. Compile a list or report.
You can consolidate a series of articles of a similar theme and package them as a report or listing of information. While you may think that anyone can do this, you'd be surprised how little of this is done.

Many people don't have the time to read or the willingness to read several articles at different times. Providing them a simplified version of the information they want will be a welcome offer for your visitors. You can either give away the report for free, sell it as your own product or use it as content on your website.

2. Use PLR content to create a series of small articles
This is especially useful when producing material for an email campaign. A series is by far, one of the more effective ways to create a following with your audience.

Give enough to allow them a feel for what you're offering and hint at giving more of the same if they will subscribe to your mailing list. In turn, your emails promote your website by inviting them to visit you on a more regular basis.

3. Produce ebooks.
It is very possible for you to take a set of PLR articles and come up with an ebook, for which you can credit yourself as the author.

Since you have created an entirely new product you could repackage this and sell this with your own resale rights. Just like you, there are people who are looking for material they can use for their own promotion needs so cater to this market as they are increasingly growing in number.

As you can see, using PLR articles are not only effective in providing truly useful content. They are also cost and labor-efficient, which means you can focus more of your time to more important matters, whether they are for business or otherwise.

Probably you've heard about Christian message boards, or perhaps you have participated in one of the most well-known Christian forums out there on the web. Well, on its most basic, the Christian message boards are by far the most active Christian discussion board on the internet these days.  Its history dates back to the year 2001 when the said "first" Christian forum was developed.

According to some resources, the first message board that carries the "Christian" label was developed by Erwin Loh, an Australian doctor and lawyer, on November 19, 2001.  After two months of preparation and discussion, the Kings Tavern, which was created by a person named Ryan Swift, also known as Josephus, merged with Christian Forums for one particular purpose – to help establish it as the largest Christian message board community in the world.  The new Christian Forums was then re-launched on February 5, 2002, the day of the merger, to promote the unity of all Christians as one body.

The first Christian forums developed by Loh and Swift continue to grow. It grows even after Swift stepped down as co-admin. Along with its rise, the Christian message boards' shared mission of promoting the unity of the Christian faith continues.

Currently, the site has more than 130,000 registered users and serves members from almost every country in the world. This re-launched Christian message board has more than a hundred administrators and moderators who are divided into staff teams that are named after the fruit of the Spirit of Galatians 5:22-23. This message board has been maintaining its motto, which is "Uniting All Christians as One Body".

Swift and Loh's Christian Forums actually has an extensive organization of forums.  As far as I know, there are more than 400 Christian message boards today, many of which have their own sub-forums. It is further worth noting that some of these Christian message boards place limits on the users who can post on them. For instance, only teenagers have the chance to post in the Christian teen forum. It is important to note that many of these forums are only open to Christians.

Another thing of interest is the large number of options available to the users. Typically, in most Christian message boards, there is a rather extensive profile that users can fill out for themselves.  Some profile information, like the age and faith icon, is used to identify access to particular forums.  It is also typical in most Christian message boards to have its own currency called "blessings", which can be given by other users or earned from jobs.  This currency is regularly earned by posting on the forums. Also, blessings are used to add features like avatars and pictures to profiles, as well as to purchase armor, pets and other features that can show up on the user's post.

Today, the Christian message boards developed by Swift and Loh are running a modified version of vBulletin.  They also currently run on multiple separate web servers, a central database sever, a slave search server, a DNS server, a mail server, an IRC server and a static file server.

Developing a website is important if you want to be a player in ecommerce. However, you don't want to just develop a website any old way. Instead, you want to develop a website for your audience. When doing research online you have probably seen generalized information on how to develop a website, however it is unlikely you have found significant information on how to develop a website specifically for your audience. The following tips will be really helpful to you to develop a website just for your audience.

Tip #1 Goal

First you need a goal when you are developing a website for your audience. If you do not know what you are looking to achieve then it will be very difficult to be successful. Also, it takes a goal to drive your website where it needs to be. A goal is what allows you to develop an initial plan for your website and helps guide you in developing your website as well.

Tip #2 Audience

Your audience is very important and should be considered in conjunction with your goal when developing a website. Basically, you are developing your website for a certain audience and these are the people that will help meet your goal so this is very important to consider. Just make sure you determine who your audience is before you begin developing your website.

Tip #3 Content for Audience

Once you have determined your goal and your audience it is time to determine the content that will be used for your audience. You might not realize it, but the type of audience you are focusing on will really affect the content you use on your website. So, make sure you have your audience targeted so you know what content will work best for these individuals.

Tip #4 Update

Another important tip for developing a website for your audience is to plan when you will provide updates. This might seem like something you could consider down the road when your site needs updating, but is really not the case. You need to know when your audience will most likely be viewing your site and when they won't so you know when to provide updates. A little bit of planning will go a long way.

Tip #5 Format

The format of your website is also a very important aspect and one that will really affect whether or not you reach your audience. Once you know who your audience is you will have no problem developing a format that will reach them. Also, your format improves your site's message, so it is beneficial in a variety of ways.

Bring the Outdoors In with Home Sunroom Additions

Bring the Outdoors In with Home Sunroom Additions

Word Count:

Summary:
These days, homeowners are increasingly choosing sunrooms that use vinyl-wood composite for the framing and high-quality windows from the floor to the ceiling.

Keywords:
sunroom, sun room, patio enclosure, conservatories, patio cover, arbor, solarium, Texas, TX

Article Body:
We may love our homes, but there are times when virtually everyone feels a bit boxed in. Perhaps we've outgrown our home, or maybe it just feels a bit dark and claustrophobic. For whatever reason, there are times when it would just feel good to bring extra light and airiness to our homes. While the popularity of sunrooms has waxed and waned over the years, most people think of a sun room as an aluminum structure that lets all of the heat out in the winter and turns into an oven in the summer.

New Materials for Better Sunrooms

Well, times have changed, and so have the materials used to build sunrooms. These days, homeowners are increasingly choosing sunrooms that use vinyl-wood composite for the framing and high-quality windows from the floor to the ceiling. The result? Well, there aren't any unsightly screws or fasteners on the walls or around the windows; instead, lovely trim and moldings provide the finishing touches. Plus, the energy efficiency is unbeatable. A typical aluminum-framed sun room is between ten and fifty percent below EPA requirements for habitable structures. In contrast, a special wood-composite sunroom average twenty-five to forty percent better than EPA codes. This means that, for example, if you live in a state like Texas, your sunroom is usable year-round and won't cause your energy bills to soar. Plus, the cost of building a sunroom out of these new materials is about that of an aluminum sunroom - and decidedly less than an all-out remodel.

Conservatories: A Step Beyond

If you think you'd enjoy the comfort and relaxation of a sunroom, conservatories put your home into a class all by itself. Sometimes called a solarium, a conservatory often becomes the most used room in a home. Mahogany conservatories are gorgeous, and typically are available in a variety of roof styles, including Windsor, Georgian, and Victorian.

Dressing Up Your Patio

Many homeowners have nice patios, but simply don't use them. Often, especially in places like TX, it's just too darned hot to have the sun beating down on you. If that's the case, then it's easy to dress up your patio with a patio enclosure, a patio cover, or an arbor. Enclosing or covering your patio gives you that much more living space and enables you to truly enjoy your backyard.

Finding the Right Company

Whether you want a sunroom, a solarium, or a patio enclosure, it's important to find a company you can rely on. Make sure that all materials and labor are backed by a 100% lifetime transferable warranty, which will be attractive to buyers if you ever sell your home. Moreover, the company you choose should provide you with a buyer's guide, a contractor's evaluation sheet, and design options before you buy. The best companies even offer a 3D architectural rendering so that you will know what your room will look like.

A sunroom or conservatory is a wonderful way to breathe new life into your home. So let the sun shine in!

Article Body:
Creating a steady income from home can be a daunting process. Being successful from home can often take more work than your regular 9 to 5. But, if you learn to break things down and follow a simple forumla, your home business can give you all the income and time freedom that you are seeking in a work from home business.

My successful business formula involves 5 steps. I follow these same five steps with every person I come into contact with. Having a system not only makes my days more organized, but also it opens up more time for me to enjoy the financial rewards that the system creates.

Here is my simple formula:

Step 1; Collect Leads:

This is an entire article in itself (which is in the works). For the sake of keeping this article on track, I will touch on this only briefly. There are many ways to get leads. You can buy leads, place ads in papers and on the net, use ad words, submit your site to search engines, mail postcards, etc. There are literally 100's of ways to advertise. The trick is finding a couple of advertising techniques that you like best and that fit your budget and then try them out. Those that bring you the most success can be tweaked further to give you the results you want. Just remember to always test each ad or lead generating technique you use. From my own experience, I like to talk to those that are in my business and find out what they are doing. They have most often been through the trial and error process and can save you some time.

Step 2; Call Leads:

This is the step that most people have reservations about. If you want to be successful in any home business, you must pick up the phone. This does not mean "cold" calling people. I never call anybody that has not asked to hear about my home business. Use your lead generating techniques in step one to create leads that want to hear from you and then contact them. Whether you business costs $5 or $5000 to join, people want to know that there is a real person behind the business that they can consult with questions. Talking to them and establishing a rapport and trust will go a long way to making sure that the prospect joins you in your home business. When still a "rookie" to making calls, it is best to have a script or outline to follow. This is not to say that you read directly from that. Just use it as a guide to keep you on track and in control of the call. Most importantly in regards to calls......LISTEN. Listen and take notes about what the prospect is telling you. Remember, you are trying to get to know this person and establish their trust.

Step 3; Email

It is hard to ignore this powerful tool. When collecting my leads, I always get an email and phone number to use in step 2 and 3 of my system. Just as I do not make cold calls, I do not send emails to those who have not asked for it. Spam complaints will kill your business and your rapport with people. When I get an email, I simply have that email address automatically entered into an autoresponder. My autoresponder then sends messages every few days to keep me fresh in my prospects mind. Autoresponders are a must have for any business. They allow you to stay in contact for long periods of time while doing virtually no work. They also increase the amount of times your prospect is exposed to you and your business. Remember this, on average a prospect must see your message 5 to 12 times before joining you.

Step 4; Direct Mail Information Packet.

With all of the new email laws and email blocking systems, direct mail is making a comeback. As I said in step 3, you want to expose yourself to your prospect as many times as possible. But, if you use one method of exposure....your prospect may begin to ignore you. Diversifying your exposure types will keep them interested. I must state that I do not mail information packets to everybody. Only those that I have talked with and that have expressed interest. Mailing the packets can become expensive if you mail them to everyone. That said, putting the pack together is very easy. I used the ad copy on my website to develop the packet. Then I throw in a business card or flyer and send it on its way. This also makes sure that people actually see the content of your site. Many have seen so many websites that they just browse them. They are more apt to sit down and read printed text than to sit at their computer and read through your website.

Step 5; Direct Mail Postcard.

Postcards, like direct mail, give you another way to expose yourself to your prospects. They are fun to design and can be sent quickly and easily. Because they are less expensive than the direct mail packets, I send a postcard to all of my leads. People love getting postcards. They do have the junk mail stigma and if designed well, they can give a personal touch to your business. I actually send a postcard campaign that sends multiple postcards over a period of 45 - 60 days to my prospects. I use a service that does this automatically and even personalizes each card for me.

Always remember this, it takes on average 5 to 12 exposures to get somebody into your business. My 5-step process actually includes multiple exposures within each step. For example, my emails include phone numbers to live calls and links to movies to watch. One email can get me three or more exposures. The key to any business is to have a formula or process to follow. Knowing what you are going to do each day keeps you focused and allows you to track how your business is doing and what may or may not be working.

That's it! Those 5 simple steps earn me a consistent 6-figure income from home. Your results may differ based on your business, and your compensation plan among other things, but this process will definitely increase your sign up rate.

Guidelines in Buying in Online Classifieds

Guidelines in Buying in Online Classifieds

Word Count:
498

Summary:
Buying in an online classified ad is a little bit tricky. Awareness in buying in website prevents you to be deceived easily. These are some guides that will help you to buy a good product in an online classified ad.

Keywords:
buying in classifieds, classifieds, online classifieds

Article Body:
Check the website

Take to consider the website's reputation in finding a good online classified. Check the website if many people use this website as a way to buy and sell their products. Good basis would be: they can publish new advertisements everyday, they are information rich website, they can publish images of the product, the website has a high page rank, has a forum, etc.

Item seller

Look for some testimonial that a person has a good reputation. It can also help you to have a background of the person that will sell the product. Try to gather some information about the item seller to see whether if he or she is a scammer or not.

Look for the quality of the items

Gather information for the product that you want to buy. Learn to ask from others' opinion and weigh it, so you will not regret later on. Gather information about the product by asking the item seller if it has a scratch, damage and defect.

Check the item price

Don't forget to make a canvass if the price is too high or not. Check other websites to determine if the product is worth your money. Please be aware of hidden charges. Make sure you do not overpay.

How old the product is

It is better to know what is new and what is old. Make sure that the product is durable. Also you must be able to distinguish if the package has been repacked or repaired. Maybe if it is too old, it will easily get broken.

Ask for a warranty

A personal warranty is a good thing to have. But it all depends on the seller if he or she gives a warranty. Try to settle a return agreement or a new item replacement if you have any problem with the product. If possible, ask for a money back guarantee.

Transaction

Make things clear between both of you, especially when regarding transactions. If it is to be delivered, don't approve to deliver it in your house without you receiving it. Make sure you have the time to accept the package yourself. This allows you check the quality of the product. Check the quality by carefully looking at all the aspects of the product like parts, damages etc. Make sure that you buy an authentic item and not a fake one. If you don't like their service, let them know what the problem is. These will help them enhance their service.

If you both agreed to meet at a certain place, the item seller usually is the one who goes to the buyer's place. If both of you will meet at a certain place, be sure that you will able to test the product before you buy it, by this you will able to know if it is defective or not.
It is a great idea if you are accompanied by a knowledgeable person

Business Blogs an Evolution in Cyberspace

Business Blogs an Evolution in Cyberspace

Word Count:

Summary:
The invention of the printing press didn't start the advertising game. It just made it quicker and easier to find and inform business clients. Discover how Blogs evolved from virtual diary's to one page   digital businesses

Keywords:

Article Body:
The invention of the printing press didn't start the advertising game. It just made it quicker and easier to find
and inform business clients. And technology rolled on. Moving steadily from telegraph, telephone, fax machine, direct mail
marketing, right up to today's internet. And all along the way entrepreneurs' took advantage of the changes to engage in
their business endeavors.  And nothing has changed. Taking the ever popular blogging phenomenon and changing it from
a home spun communications medium to a business promotion wonderland. Enter the blog the poor man's website.

Blogs started out being a place where the common person had somewhere to express themselves. A place to open up their
diary's and let the whole world know their hereto before private thoughts or an opportunity to express their political views.
Truly this was a quagmire of unprofitable information though interesting as heck. The blog wasn't made popular because of financial gain
initially. Regardless of why blogs became so popular they did achieve a phenomenal growth. And with that explosion of
popularity the greedy blew in with it. A Blog as a retail marketing medium was a certain destiny.

One of the advantages of blogs for business is that it's easy to get access and use of one for free. Free in a
sense. Usually the free ones require one to advertise the company providing the free blog. Because blogs
are user friendly, and designed to be easy to customize, it's a real cost effective tool for the internet marketer. Even if you
choose to pay for your own the cost is usually a under $10 a month. Most important is the fact that hundreds of thousands
of blogs are in use. Statistics show there are currently close to 14 million blogs posted on the internet with an estimated
80,000 additional blogs  signing up daily. Couple those facts with the reality that there are over 50 million internet users and
that 30% of them are reading a blog. It becomes a no brainer why for the online marketer it's a mind boggling, ready made,
opportunity to be exploited for profit.

One of the common formats that are used on blogs is the mini forum. This has great advantages for the serious
online marketer. It provides real input as to how the public thinks and feels about the product or services being
promoted. It always helps to know exactly what you need to change to keep things moving upward. A popular technique
used with blogs is to treat them as a stepping stone to another website. For example let's say you might have a website selling
sports tennis shoes. So now you create a blog called, " Freddie the Sneaker Tweaker". A site where folks come to get Freddie's
latest complaint or praise about different sneaker brands being sold on the internet. However most conveniently there happens to be a URL for the sports tennis shoe website clearly
seen on the blogs review page which , directs more traffic it. Doing this of course feeds more traffic to the real money maker.

If you're new to the internet don't expect like so many unfortunately do that your simply having a website will guarantee that here comes
the money. Even blogs being used for business reasons require good SEO practices. It would be advantageous for the newbie
to join a SEO blogging community along with having their blog indexed by the larger search engines. They also should take a serious peek at their
competition. The best business blogs are those owned by people who only started out sharing something they had passion over
and that passion caught on to all those others with a common interest. This is a win-win situation. Good blogs are those
which truly provide the public with meaningful information.

For those folks that were the charter members of blogging what's happened to the blog is discouraging. Yet change is
a natural part of life. And sense behind all those two dimensional blogs is a human director it was only a matter of time
before the business blog appeared and with its success it grew and grew. Yet, there is a bright side. Because of the
blogging explosion thousands of good people overnight found themselves suddenly wanted and financially bettered. May the blog live long
and prosper.

4 “Must Know” Tips for Pricing Your Services

4 "Must Know" Tips for Pricing Your Services

Article Body:

One of the worst moments in a business owner's life is that silent moment between when you quote your rate to a potential client and his response.  True, that hardly a second goes by, but it can feel like an eternity.

"Will he hire me?"

"Did I go too high?"

And when he says "YOU'RE HIRED!", a new set of doubts creep over you:

"Should I have gone higher?"

"Did I lowball the price just to get a client?"

You know the feeling.  You've got the job, the project, the new client and it almost always turns out to be more work than you thought when you signed up for the task.  Be sure that you know your worth and communicate it to the client up front.

1. Know your worth.

If you charge your clients hourly, how do you know what to charge them?  Did you pick a number out of the air?  What was your rationale?

For those who choose to bill hourly, I recommend the following approach to determining what you charge:

a) Determine what you want your salary to be.  How much will you take out of the company?

b)  Add to that any subcontractor expense that you may have.  This is your "labor total".

c)  List out and then add all your expenses: advertising, promotion, rent, self-employment tax, supplies, etc.  This is your "non-labor expense total".

d)  Add your labor total to your non-labor expense total.

e)  Add in any profit goal you may have for your business.

f)  Bullets (d) plus (e) equal your Total Required Revenue.

g)  Divide your "Total Required Revenue" by the number of BILLABLE hours for the year.  Remember that you will not be billing 40 hours/week.  The result will be the amount you need to charge per hour to make your salary goal.

If you bill hourly, take the time to complete the above exercise and, if necessary, increase your rates accordingly.

2. No haggling.

It can be hard when you have few clients or need more money, but whatever you do, do not haggle with your clients/prospective clients over your pricing.

You can haggle at a flea market.  You can haggle for the price of a house.  You can negotiate (a.k.a. "haggle") for a corporate job salary.  As a self-employed individual, you must not haggle over your pricing.  To do so immediately lowers your perceived worth with that person and will set you up for a relationship of nitpicking over every nickel and dime.

3. Provide a "solution" and not a "service."

Insure your clients understand the benefits they will receive from hiring you.  You are not providing them a service; you are providing them a solution.

The difference being that people value solutions more than they do services.  Whenever discussing price with a potential client, focus on the benefits, the "solutions" that she will receive as a result of hiring you.

Will she have more free time?  Will her business see an increase in profits or clients?  Know the benefits and speak to them!

4. Be prepared to say "Goodbye".

Not everyone is going to accept your terms.  Deal with it.  They weren't meant to be your clients anyway and would have just taken up the time that you could use for a better qualified client.  Save your time and energy for those who recognize your worth – you'll both be happier and more productive.

Pricing your services is one of the most emotional things you'll do as a business owner.  Be sure to take the time to review the project at hand before just blurting out a price – doing so will save you a lot of time and frustration down the road.

How to Make Your Own PDF Easily

How to Make Your Own PDF Easily

Summary:
If you are an internet marketer sooner or later you will need to learn how to make your own PDF. I have just learned how to do this for free and easily.

Keywords:
e-book, pdf, internet marketing, make money online, work from home

Article Body:
If you are an internet marketer sooner or later you will need to learn how to make your own PDF. I have just learned how to do this for free and easily.

First, you might ask why you need to make your own PDFs? There are different reasons. First, by writing and giving away your own e-book you can bring a lot of traffic to your website. Second, you can grow your list in this way. There are a lot of people who are looking for free information on the internet. E-books are more valued than web pages or other reports or articles. People will be happy to sign up to your list to get the free e-book. Third, by writing your own e-book and giving it away you can make people happy and more receptive to your future e-mails. Fourth, having your own e-book your website will look more authoritative and you can get better search engines ratings.

Now you might think that it's not easy to create your own e-book in PDF format or that you need to buy the expensive Adobe Acrobat.

Below are simple steps how to do it for free and easily. There are other ways but I think this way is the easiest.

First, download free but very good "Open Office" Second, install it and open the Open Office writer program. Third, use the writer program to write your content.

You might get scared and think that you don't know what to write about. I presume that if you are an internet marketer, you have found your niche and know something about it. The easiest way to write an e-book about your niche is to buy and read other e-books about your niche. You should also read some articles and information on different forums about you niche.
After that try to collect the best and most useful information from all those sources and write your own e-book. Of course don't just copy. Don't plagiarize! Write it using your own words. Try to add some extra valuable information. People will be happy to find the e-book which contains some new information, but they will also appreciate the e-book packed will the most valuable essence, even if it can be found in a few other, different e-books.

Fourth, when your content is ready, click on the "file menu" in Open Office, and then click "export to pdf." Next choose where you want to save your pdf and name it. Now your e-book in PDF format is ready.

Choosing A Format For Your Online E-Book Publishing Business

Choosing A Format For Your Online E-Book Publishing Business
Word Count:
525
Summary:
The right format can determine the ultimate success or failure of your e-Book business.  Choose a format that will ensure the security of your e-Book and keep it from being illegally copied.

Keywords:
ebook, email marketing, internet marketing, online profits

Article Body:
Publishing an eBook online is without a doubt one of the most profitable ventures you can undertake when trying to make some income from the Internet.  But you must consider what format your eBook will be in.  Choose the wrong format and you can doom yourself to never making a profit, or at least not making a profit for very long.
What are formats and what are some of the things you need to consider?  A format is simply what type of file your information will be stored in.  On your desktop computer are many different file types, where each file type is typically opened by a different type of program.  For example, there are plain text files, usually denoted with a ".txt" extension, there are ".doc" files, which are usually opened in Microsoft Word, there are ".htm" files, which can be opened by any web browser, and so on.  There are many, many different types of formats that are used by the myriad text and word processing programs our there.
In the same way, the information you present in your eBook needs to be presented to your online audience in a format that they can open up and read.  Formats such as .doc, .txt, .htm (or .html), .pdf (for Adobe's ubiquitous Acrobat Reader) will have virtually universal readability.  However, you need to consider more than just readability when you make this decision.  You must also consider piracy and copyright infringement.  If your eBook is truly stellar, with a title such as "How to make a million dollars in two weeks by watching TV", you must realize that it will be a prime target for information pirates.
Your eBook creation is your intellectual property and needs to be protected as much as possible.  Otherwise, people can simply pass your eBooks around on the Internet or attach them in emails to their friends.  You want to ensure that anyone who is reading your valuable content has legitimately bought and paid for the right to do so.  For this reason, the best solution is to publish your eBook in one of the many proprietary formats that will convert your ebook into a protected file that can only be opened by the person who has purchased it.
There are many programs out there that will convert your eBook into a secure format.  I can't even begin to list them all, but you want to look for a format that will convert your eBook into some type of executable (.exe) file that can't be cut, copied, or pasted from.  Search for "ebook creation software" or something like that in your favorite Internet search engine, and follow as many links as you desire until you find the format you like the best.
It's up to you to protect your content, because certainly no one else is going to do it for you!

A home based business is just as much work as any other business and takes extreme amount of dedication and determination. Working hard each and everyday in the beginning is going to be something that you will need to do. You will need to invest time and money into your home business to keep it running.
After all of that hard work you put in you are going to have a business that you are in control of. This means that you will have more freedom then you ever experienced working for anyone else. Owning your own business means that you will have the freedom to spend time with family. Your daughter has a ballet recital, or your son has a baseball game? No problem for you, because you are free to take off and go when ever you need to. If your child gets sick you do not have to worry about calling in sick to work to stay home and take care of them. Doctor's appointments for you and your family are no longer difficult to arrange, because you are free to go at any time that is available to you.
Many people would love the freedom to just go on vacation when they wanted to. When you own your own business you have that freedom. You can take a couple of days off to go on vacation any time of the year you want. Depending on the type of business you are running you may even have the freedom to take your business with you where ever you go.
An internet business can be run from anywhere in the world. If you have a laptop you can take your work with you anywhere. That soccer game of your son, daughter, cousin, niece, or nephew is now your office. Perhaps you would like to take an extended vacation but need to keep tabs on your business and how things are being run. Not a problem at all if your business is an internet based business and you have a laptop. Go on a cruise, or take a trip to another country all while still working and making the money to enjoy your life.
Running an internet business and taking it with you wherever you go also means that you can even work at the park or some other out door location. This is especially nice if you have little children who need the time to be out doors but you still need to do the work to keep your income level where it is.
Remember that the more work you put into your home based business the more money you are going to make. The more profitable your business is the more freedom you will have to do the things you really want to do. Having freedom to do the things that you want to do will lead to a more happy and fulfilled life. Obtaining your goals for your life is one of the reasons that many people enjoy having their own business.

Is it really about the rise in the number of sales and inquiries from after you have released the advertisements? Or probably the brand assessment is also a contributing factor?

In reality it is not only with those elements that you measure the quality of your advertisement, but rather it depends on a lot of factors which covers the kind of media which you have employed, the budget or your assessment, the objective of your advertisement, the phase of accuracy and consistency that is necessitated, who is your target market and the budget you have allotted for the executed ad campaign.

These elements would have to be sufficed first before you'd be capable to unquestionably divulge that your distinct personal ad is effective. That is the reason why a lot of people assert that it is intricate to gauge an advertisement's accuracy. Aside from the need to deliberate many things, there are also other elements for that matter such as the kind of previous advertisement that had been released and its quantity.

It is also necessary for you to know the responsiveness of your consumers to the brand or the product you had advertised. Also, there are certain paragons when you need to gauge the accessibility of cost keen assessment computation, the domain where you have to place the classified ad, the choices of archives about the product like the price.

Distinct advertising experts have proposed several models which one could use to be able to gauge the validness of a classified ad. For example, some advertising experts state that the real measure of the accuracy of advertising is possible through the utility of a cube diagram wherein you measure the headings which embody the sales, profits, attention, persuasion and communication.

On the other hand, there are some people who only stipulate to settle for surveys which aim to test the brand or product recognition of the clientele purely after an advertising campaign. Actually, this particular method could be used with two options; one is to evaluate the product the other one for a more extensive advertisement.

Overall though, advertisements can be very beneficial to the promotional efforts of any business because it enables the clients to become appreciative that such business does exists and that it can provide several distinct goods that they need. Classified advertisement has been proven to effectively set off the purchasing behavior of the clients and it is safe to assume that it will continue to do so for countless more years to come.

Pliers were first developed in Europe as an aide in their metal crafting works. Since Europe was amongst the active developers of technology, pliers were used to hold and clutch hot melted items used for household wares, weapons and furniture.

Through time the pliers have evolved to having different kinds and different functions. But since its beginnings the commercially available pliers currently did not vary that much from the very first ones. The same concept as that with the first one is still used. A bolt & nut is placed around a third from the tip of the pliers. The moment of arm principle is used to hold the object tighter while applying minimum force to the handles.

As technology continues to develop, more and more variety of pliers have been made to aide every possible need and want. Commonly, these aides are mainly used in machine shops, craft shops, and electrical related jobs. Now pliers have mechanisms that lock and grip the object in place.

The common types of pliers and their uses:

•Flat Nose Pliers. This is the most common type of pliers in the tool shed which is mainly used for gripping objects with great compression loads. Usually flat nose pliers come with a wire cutter that has the same function as a lineman's pliers. The disadvantage of this type of pliers is in gripping objects with slim spaces. There is more of a brute force than finesse.

•Long Nose Pliers. Frequently used in craft production, this type of pliers is essential in bending and shape forming for jewelry making. The downside to this though is that we can't apply force since the shape of this tool is tapered.

•Round Nose Pliers. Also a critical partner in craft making, round nose pliers are used for creating round shaped wires for earrings, necklaces and bracelets. This type of pliers is the same as the long nose pliers, and offers the same disadvantages.

•Crimping Pliers. This particular type has the most variety. Crimping pliers are used to join or seal two things together. The most common uses for these pliers are for industrial use, but they come along with a costly price tag.

•Cutting Pliers. Actually this type of pliers does not belong to the plier's family as stated in its early uses, but the form and concept is basically the same. This type of pliers is used for cutting and stripping wires, which is one of the most useful electrical tools.

So you want to start an online business. You have surfed the web, read some blogs and have found that lots of people are making some decent mullah. But you are frustrated due to the lack of any new idea. Don't worry. There are still many ideas that you can implement using a little money, lots of efforts, and some persistency.

1. Think about your hobby. What you would like to do in your spare time? May be you like to go hunting, or scuba diving. May be you want to make dolls. List some of the annoyances and inconveniences you encounter while pursuing your hobby. Search in Google to find solutions to your problems and then write a small e-book. Sell the e-book using clickbank dot com.

2. If you are an artist, crafter, or designer, check out etsy dot com. You create your own shop by signing up for free. Listing an item with photos cost 0.20 cents. The selling fee is 3.5% of the final sale price. You can accept payment through PayPal.

3. Start a blog. But don't start a blog on making money. Find your niche and sign up for free at Blogger to create your blog. You need to select a name for your blog. Select the name of your blog carefully. Write down half a dozen names that tell something about your blog topic. Check out those names using the overture keyword selector tool for search popularity. Use a name that people search at least more than a thousand times every month.

4. If you decide to use the number 3 (starting a blog) method to generate incomes, sign up with ReviewMe, PayPerPost, and Chitika for writing paid reviews of other companys' products and services. This will supplement your Google's Adsense incomes.

5. If you are good at computer programming, write a simple online tool, e.g calculating carbon foot print of your visitors, or total body fat. You get the idea. The program should be simple to use and easy to develop. Build a website around your tool and sign up with affiliate programs for revenue generation.

6. If you frequently go on short trips or vacation, buy a good but small and high resolutions digital camera for easy carrying with you all the time. Take at least 200 pictures on each trip and put them for sale on shutterpoint dot com. There are a few other websites where you can put your photos for sale. Check them out by doing a Google search.

7. Participate in paid survey. But don't pay to join any program for paid survey. Use Google to search for paid survey and visit a dozen paid survey websites. Review their offerings and write those down. Now search webmaster forum in Google and then sign up in a couple of webmaster forums. Ask about others experiences with paid survey companies and pick a good one.

Now you have these seven unusual ways to make money online. You will not make a ton of money overnight. But once you gain experiences in online money making opportunities, you will explore other methods to earn big bucks.

Blogs are excellent for online network marketing.. In network marketing, the key to success is to build and maintain relationships with people who you can help.. The informal nature of blogs makes them easy to read and so the response is also more than what is generated by a normal website. Blogs are easy to produce and their heavy content makes them perfect for getting business. Also, adding new content to a blog is very easy. Network marketers need to communicate with customers and prospects on a regular basis and reviewing and adding new material to a website is often difficult and time-consuming.

Blogs appeal to many people due to their simplicity and dynamic nature. Building relationships with prospects and customers and informing them about tools, solutions and products can be done easily through postings on a blog. It is a great way to educate and motivate existing team members

The subject of your MLM blog can be anything that will benefit and educate network marketers and business opportunity seekers.. Posting original articles will increase your MLM blog traffic because you will be adding fresh unique content, that search engines use to deliver higher rankings. Submit your articles to the article directories as soon after posting them to your blog as you can. The search engines will spider your blog first and still credit you for being the original publisher.

If you do not want to post articles to your blog, you could personalize it by talking about your own unique experiences of the product or program that you are promoting, on an ongoing basis. You could also write your own unique review of the program, mentioning both the major benefits and features of the program, and any slight faults inherent in the program for added credibility readers will appreciate your honesty as most so-called reviews are nothing more than hyped-up sales pitches. This will give your blog more credibility, which is an excellent way to increase mlm blog traffic.

Also make sure that you include prominent links to your own unique affiliate links and your other websites and blogs. You could also use a simple resource box with a link to your website at the end of each post.. Talking of which, after every post be sure to notify the various search engines by using 'ping' services such as Feedburner, Bolgflux or Pingomatic.

Writing and finding unique content for your blog is critical. It is not all that difficult and when posted frequently and pinged correctly, will result in steady and increase mlm blog traffic. More mlm blog traffic means more people are getting to know and trust you and looking at your websites and primary network marketing business.
